Text2Talk

Text
UMTR2ME to 741741

As beneficial as verbal conversations can be, there can be times when they simply don’t meet the need.

We can text more openly what we find difficult to express verbally.  We stress over finding the right words to say and how to say them.

However, when we text, we are free to edit our words without having the pressure of having only one chance to choose the right words to say.

When we text our conversations, the communication is slowed down.  We have the ability to focus on our words as we read.  We can apply those words to how we truly feel.  Voiced conversations require us to be ready on the spot to talk.  There can seem to be less time to carefully formulate our spoken words based on our thoughts or feelings.

Sometimes we need a little time to think about what we are feeling and what we want to say.  A text conversation leaves opportunities for pause.  The person texting is in control.

In collaboration with Crisis Text line, UMTR2ME offers Text2Talk realizing that expressing thoughts and feelings through text can sometimes be easier and less anxious than talking in person or on a phone call.
