Deserea has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Counseling and Social Change from San Diego State University. While at SDSU she served on the Psi Chi International Honors Society and appeared on the Dean’s List.
Currently Deserea is working towards her Masters in Social Work at SDSU, where her primary focus will the mental health of military service members with an emphasis in combat related post traumatic stress and suicide prevention. She has also served on the UMTR2ME Evening of Hope community speaking event. Deserea’s personal experiences involve family members who have struggled with alcohol, eating disorders, depression and the loss of two cousins to suicide.
When not attending country concerts (George Strait is her favorite) or watching Netflix, self-proclaimed “foodie,” Deserea loves traveling and learning about other cultures.
